it-ER Ambassador Day 2025: a gathering of connection, inspiration and ideas in Reggio Emilia

Empowering a global community to shape future initiatives and strengthen the it-ER Ambassador network, looking ahead to 2026

On 22 November 2025, the city of Reggio Emilia hosted the 4th edition of the it-ER Ambassador Day, the annual gathering dedicated to the international network of university students, PhD candidates, researchers and knowledge workers who promote the Emilia-Romagna innovation ecosystem.

The day opened at the Chiostri di San Pietro, where participants set off on an interactive tour of the city center before taking part in a group challenge at the Musei Civici – an activity to spark collaboration, curiosity and shared discovery. Ambassadors then visited one of Reggio Emilia’s most iconic sites, the Museo del Tricolore, home of the Italian national flag.
In the afternoon, the group moved to the Tecnopolo (Pavilion 19) for a guided visit of the Tecnopolo facilities and the Reggiane Parco Innovazione, two strategic hubs for research, technology transfer and entrepreneurship in the region.

The event concluded with a working session dedicated to co-designing the 2026 edition of the it-ER Ambassador Day. Participants developed four proposals for the 2026 edition that highlight the role of local territories, help grow the it-ER Ambassador community, and promote Emilia-Romagna as an attractive destination for studying, conducting research and building a professional future.
Throughout the day, Ambassadors collaborated across teams, sharing ideas, experiences and new perspectives – making this edition both productive and inspiring. Once again, the it-ER Ambassador Day highlighted the energy, creativity and commitment that define this vibrant international community.
