Pull up a chair with Ravenna Welcomes Talents

The Municipality of Ravenna invites international students, researchers and workers to discover the city through its Welcoming Dinners initiative

Opening the door of your home and sharing food are simple but powerful gestures. They speak of relationships, trust and openness to others and in Ravenna, they have taken the form of a concrete initiative: the Welcoming Dinners ("Cene Accoglienti"), promoted as part of the Ravenna Welcomes Talents project.

The initiative has a clear goal: to support the inclusion, cultural exchange and local integration of students, researchers and highly skilled workers, both Italian and international, who have chosen Ravenna as the city in which to live and build their professional path. Welcoming Dinners are convivial gatherings organised by Ravenna families and residents who open their homes to newcomers. The format is flexible: any moment of togetherness involving shared food qualifies as a welcoming dinner.

Those who wish to host a dinner can sign up through the dedicated website by filling in the online form. After registration, a municipal officer will get in touch to arrange an initial meeting. Students, researchers and workers who would like to attend a welcoming dinner can also register through the same platform, indicating their occupation and any food allergies or intolerances.

The initiative is part of the broader framework of the Albo delle Famiglie Accoglienti (Register of Welcoming Families) of the Municipality of Ravenna, a long-standing tool for promoting inclusion and solidarity in the local community, with a dedicated section for international talents in higher education and research.
