it-ER stories: Alessandro Mafrica
An international experience from New Zealand and Australia to Reggio Emilia
Alessandro Mafrica is 31 years old and comes from Reggio Emilia. He came back to Emilia-Romagna after two years living in between New Zealand and Australia, where he worked as graphic designer and communication manager.
As he told us, Alessandro decided to come back due to the pandemic crisis in March 2020 but also because he thought that it was a good idea to spread, here in the Emilia-Romagna region, what he learned, the skills he achieved and the vision he got during the working period overseas.
Obviously, returning to his home country after such a long time living abroad was not an easy pathway as we know. However, Emilia-Romagna gives many opportunities in terms of jobs and the possibility to start your own business. This is the reason why Alessandro decided to stay here and now is currently working as communication designer for the foundation E35 working cooperation and european projects.
Moreover, according to him, the territory is a perfect land to live in to discover amazing landscapes and natural places and the most well-known cuisine around the world. Another great value of the region are people, in fact, they are very welcoming and always ready to take action.
Furthermore, he is also part of our it-ER Ambassadors, the network of international university students, PhDs, researchers and knowledge workers representing the Emilia-Romagna Innovation Ecosystem throughout the world!
