On October 7th, 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, the DAMA Technopole in Bologna will open its doors to undergraduates, master’s students, and PhD candidates in STEM disciplines for a unique morning of discovery. During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to meet key actors of the Emilia-Romagna research and innovation ecosystem and learn more about their activities, while exploring one of the region’s most innovative hubs.

The day will start with an introduction by Mauro Penza from the Emilia-Romagna Region, presenting the role of the Technopole within the regional innovation ecosystem. Participants will then have the chance to hear directly from leading institutions based at DAMA: CINECA, a center of excellence in Italy and Europe for supercomputing technologies and advanced applications; and the ECMWF – European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, a world leader in numerical weather prediction.

The program will also feature contributions from ER.GO Career Service, which provides guidance, career counseling, and support for students and graduates in planning their professional paths; the it-ER International Talents Emilia-Romagna initiative, which helps attract and retain international researchers and highly skilled professionals in the region; and Bologna for Talent, the Metropolitan City and Municipality programme that supports students and young professionals in discovering career and life opportunities in Bologna, facilitating relocation and integration within the local community. Together, these presentations will offer participants valuable insights into educational, professional, and international opportunities in Emilia-Romagna.

The visit will conclude with a guided tour of the facilities, giving participants a first-hand look at the spaces and activities that make DAMA Technopole a key player in the international research and innovation landscape.
