Libraries
There are more than 1,000 libraries in Emilia-Romagna: municipal, provincial, state, university, ecclesiastical and private entities. Libraries make the heritage they conserve available to all citizens, their desire to know, understand and create: over 23 million documents, including ancient and modern printed books, newspapers, magazines, but also graphic and photographic materials, posters, correspondence, multimedia, audiobooks, music, videos, comics.
It includes 8 library centers in the Region.
Furthermore, many of these libraries offer services tailored to children, with dedicated spaces, specific materials and initiatives designed for them.

A free service that allows you to access 1.5 million digital library resources from home, via web connection, including thousands of ebooks from the main Italian publishers, over 7,000 subscriptions to digital newspapers and periodicals from 90 countries in 40 different languages, thousands of audiobooks and streaming music as well as videos, audio, musical scores, images, e-learning resources, historical periodicals, scientific periodicals, video games, etc…
To access the portals, it is sufficient to be registered with any of the civic and public libraries in the Region, a practice that can also be done online.

University libraries integrate the public library system by offering free access for the academic community as well as for the public upon free registration. University Library System provide advanced research tools, specialist collections, digital resources and study spaces, contributing to the cultural and educational enrichment of the region.

Below there is a selection of the main fairs:
- BolognaFiere: located in the regional capital, it is one of the largest and most important exhibition centers in Europe. It hosts leading events in the technical field such as Cersaie (Salone Internazionale della Ceramica per l'Architettura e dell'Arredobagno) and EIMA (Esposizione Internazionale di Macchine per l'Agricoltura), on research and innovation such as We Make Future and R2B Research to Business and in the cultural field with Artefiera and Bologna Children's Book Fair;
- Fiera di Rimini: known as a point of reference for the hospitality and food and wine sectors. It hosts events such as SIGEP (Salone Internazionale Gelateria, Pasticceria, Panificazione Artigianali e Caffè), Ecomondo, one of the main events for the green sector, and MACFRUT, the national and international reference event for the fruit and vegetable sector;
- Fiere di Parma: another center of excellence for the agri-food sector, known for events such as Cibus (Salone Internazionale dell'Alimentazione) and Cibus TEC, dedicated to food and beverage technologies;
- Ferrara Expo: offers an interesting trade fair calendar, with events such as RemTech Expo, specialized in restoration, regeneration and sustainable development of territories, and Salone Internazionale del Restauro.
