Emilia-Romagna Region

The Emilia-Romagna Region selects and finances with the resources of the European Social Fund (ESF) Operational Program  projects carried out jointly by universities, research institutions and local businesses that promote the construction and transfer of knowledge and skills.

The intervention measures include research doctorates, first and second level university masters and specialization courses, postgraduate second level and/or postdoctoral research grants aimed at applied research projects or research spin-offs.

Doctoral students and researchers can access doctoral scholarships, research grants and training allowances for participation in post-graduate higher education courses by monitoring the sections on the websites of each University in the Emilia-Romagna region. For more information:

Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA)

The Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions are part of Horizon 2020, the European Union Framework Program dedicated to research and innovation, which finances projects for training and mobility of researchers.

In particular, they aim to ensure excellent training and innovative research, and interesting career and knowledge exchange opportunities through cross-border cooperation and intersectoral mobility of researchers from European Union countries and countries associated with the Program. European Research Council (ERC)

The European Research Council is the European Union body that finances researchers of excellence of any age and nationality who intend to carry out frontier research activities in EU Member States or associated countries.

The objective is therefore to support high-risk research projects, conducted by researchers with major international curricula.
