From 16th to 18th May 2025, Europe will host the 9th edition of the CASSINI Hackathon: Space for Healthcare, an event that connects innovators, developers, designers, and problem-solvers to create healthcare solutions using space technologies. Held simultaneously across 10 European countries, the hackathon aims to drive innovation in public health by applying space-based data and services.
Space-based innovation for real-world health challenges
This edition of the CASSINI Hackathon invites participants to use data and signals from European Union space programmes such as Copernicus, Galileo, and EGNOS to address urgent healthcare challenges. The focus areas for this edition are:
- monitoring disease outbreaks and health risks
- smart emergency healthcare delivery
- mental health and well-being
Whether you are a first-time hackathon participant or a seasoned innovator, the CASSINI Hackathon offers a unique opportunity to develop solutions that could transform the future of healthcare in Europe.
Prizes
Participants compete first at a local level, with each of the 10 host locations offering their own set of prizes. The winners from each location then advance to the European-level competition, where the top three teams will receive:
- first prize: €5.000
- second prize: €3.000
- third prize: €1.000
In addition to the cash prizes, the top teams will gain access to the CASSINI Mentoring Programme, a six-month accelerator offering more than 100 hours of mentorship from space and business experts. This program is designed to support teams in transforming their hackathon concepts into viable ventures.
