Bologna as one of the biggest data valleys in the world

The Emilia-Romagna region is mostly known for its cultural heritage, delicious food, and beautiful sightseeing. But in the near future, Bologna is going to be known also for its big data center. The near future is going to belong to supercomputers, and Bologna Tecnopole wants to be one of the world’s leading actors in this high technology. 

Tecnopolo Bologna is part of the 10 other tecnopole in the Emilia-Romagna region. Also, Tecnopolo Bologna is the data center of the region, on the other hand, intends to become the world’s largest data valley as well. Tecnopolo Bologna is now hosting the Europe Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF). In other respects, Bologna Tecnopole is preparing to host CINECA’s supercomputer Leanardo soon. Thus, Bologna Tecnopole will have 80% of Italy’s computing capacity. Supercomputers are the ınnovation itself. Due to their calculation capacity, from automation to drug production these computers can simulate and create a prototype of every material. Innovation is here and Bologna Tecnopole will become one of the leaders of future’s technology!
