A Hub to strengthen innovation in Italy

Italy has experienced a remarkable growth in terms of innovation, outperforming the EU average in several of its regions. However, to consolidate this progress and improve its global competitiveness, it is essential to strengthen the innovation ecosystem through initiatives that foster collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors. In this sense, the EIT Community Hub Italy is a fundamental platform to foster cooperation and facilitate access to key resources.

With the aim of further strengthening innovation in the country, the Tecnopolo Manifattura in Bologna hosted the launch event of the EIT Community Hub Italy on February 18. The initiative, organised in collaboration with EIT Manufacturing South and supported by ART-ER S. cons. p. a., brought together the nine EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), which presented their projects and discussed new opportunities for cooperation. This event also served as a bridge between the various actors of the Italian ecosystem, such as companies, startups, universities and institutions, offering access to leading knowledge, funding and multiple possibilities in essential sectors of the country.

The session began with an institutional welcome followed by a panel on building a competitive innovation ecosystem in Italy. Following this, the morning continued with a conference on the future of digitalisation and technological innovation in the country. This was followed by two key panels: the first, on the use of data in digital transformation, with the participation of EIT Digital, EIT Health Innostars, EIT Culture & Creativity, the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative; the second, on green transition and cross-sector collaboration, with experts from EIT Urban Mobility, EIT Food Hub, EIT Climate-KIC and EIT RawMaterials.

In addition, the event facilitated networking spaces and a matchmaking workshop in the afternoon that focused on EU funding opportunities, organised in conjunction with Fondazione Piemonte Innova and Cluster Smart Communities Tech, allowing the participants to establish partnerships for future collaborations.

The role of the EIT in the Italian innovation ecosystem

Ultimately, with the creation of the EIT Community Hub Italy, entrepreneurs and researchers are expected to have easier access to innovation programs, strengthening Italy's global competitiveness and its integration into the European market.

El EIT Community Hub Italy se lanza con éxito, impulsando la innovación y la colaboración

Italia ha experimentado un notable crecimiento en términos de innovación, superando la media de la UE en varias de sus regiones. No obstante, para consolidar este progreso y mejorar su competitividad a nivel global, es esencial fortalecer el ecosistema de innovación mediante iniciativas que fomenten la colaboración entre el sector público, privado y académico. En este sentido, el EIT Community Hub Italy se presenta como una plataforma fundamental para impulsar la cooperación y facilitar el acceso a recursos clave.

Por ello, y con el objetivo de fortalecer aún más la innovación en el país, el pasado 18 de febrero, el Tecnopolo Manifattura de Bolonia fue el escenario del evento de lanzamiento del EIT Community Hub Italy. La iniciativa, organizada en colaboración con EIT Manufacturing South y respaldada por ART-ER S. cons. p. a., reunió a las nueve Comunidades de Conocimiento e Innovación (CCI) del EIT, que expusieron sus proyectos y discutieron nuevas oportunidades de cooperación. Este evento también sirvió como puente entre los diversos actores del ecosistema italiano, como empresas, startups, universidades e instituciones, ofreciendo acceso a conocimientos de vanguardia, financiación y múltiples posibilidades en sectores esenciales del país.

La jornada comenzó con una bienvenida institucional seguido de un panel sobre la construcción de un ecosistema de innovación competitivo en Italia. La mañana continuó con una conferencia sobre el futuro de la digitalización y la innovación tecnológica en el país. Posteriormente, se realizaron dos paneles clave: el primero, sobre el uso de datos en la transformación digital, con la participación de EIT Digital, EIT Health Innostars, EIT Culture & Creativity, la EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative; el segundo, sobre la transición ecológica y la colaboración intersectorial, con expertos de EIT Urban Mobility, EIT Food Hub, EIT Climate-KIC y EIT RawMaterials.

Además, el evento facilitó espacios de networking y por la tarde un taller de matchmaking que se centró en oportunidades de financiación de la UE, organizado en conjunto con Fondazione Piemonte Innova y Cluster Smart Communities Tech, permitiendo a los asistentes establecer alianzas para futuras colaboraciones.
