A path of an International student in Emilia-Romagna

Nicolas Casas Rey is a Colombian master's student in Modena and he lives in Emilia-Romagna since 2019. Because of his passion for motorcycle sport, his path brings him to study automotive engineering in the Emilia-Romagna region which is the heart of the automotive industry in the world.

since Emilia Romagna is also the food region of Italy, Nicolas could daily find many opportunities to taste different kinds of delicious food such as Tortellini, Parmigiano, Balsamic vinegar, and Prosciutto. On the other hand, he enjoys cycling through the breathtaking landscape of the Appennini.

Besides to that as an international student who lives in a foreign country, he encountered some difficulties such as adopting a new culture, a new language and also adjusting to a new weather. However, he could manage to handle all the challenges of living in a new country as a foreigner. In the end, he found an internship at one of the biggest motorcycle company, and also he is working on his own start-up project. His advice for the foreigners who has some doubts but also would like to move to Emilia-Romagna is: just do it!
