Migrantheatre Conference in Bologna

A two-day conference to discuss the "Migrantheatre - Migration Perspectives in Europe" project and its remits

On 15th and 16th December from 9:00 to 16:00 at DamsLab Center in Bologna will take place the Migrantheatre Conference.

The two-day session will start with a welcome message by the Rector's Delegate for Una Europa, Prof. Silvia Bianconcini, and will include an exhibition and a workshop by Cantieri Meticci, and the staging of 'Sporco negro' by Kronoteatro.

The conference organiser is Dr Matteo Paoletti who is the coordinator of the project as well. The project Migrantheatre has received seed funding from Una Europa and studies the multifaceted perspectives on migrations and their effects on theatrical cultures in Europe, identifying common trends and best practices of integration, with the aim of offering to policy makers the opportunity to steer the phenomenon with deeper awareness.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, the project focuses on areas dealing with different migratory flows and strategies of integration: the Mediterranean, Eastern, and Northern Europe.

The project is developed by an international network of scholars from four Una Europa Universities: the University of Bologna, KU Leuven, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, University of Edinburgh, Jagiellonian University of Kraków. Project partners include the Fondazione Innovazione Urbana of Bologna and the theatre company Cantieri Meticci.
