Parma will be the European Youth Capital in 2027!
A title awarded thanks to the great synergy between the municipal administration, the youth community and the network of associations
The news was announced by the European Youth Forum, the international youth organisation that chose Parma's dossier as the best proposal to stimulate youth participation and strengthen the European identity of the city.
The project aims to reduce the generation gap and improve the quality of life of young people through a series of thematic initiatives organised in eight ‘Squares’ and four ‘Paths’, promoting active participation, social inclusion and sustainability. Meetings, discussions and concrete actions for a more inclusive and sustainable future for Parma and Europe.
The project – Parma, a big square for Europe – is the result of an extensive participatory process involving hundreds of girls and boys under 30 and more than two hundred local and national associations. A pathway that aims to create a permanent platform for dialogue and participation between young people and society, thus fostering the protagonism of the youth community.
In 2027 Parma will have the opportunity to show the social, economic and cultural development linked to youth.
