Research to Business 2025: celebrating 20 years of innovation

Research to Business (R2B), the leading international event dedicated to research and advanced skills for innovation, returns to Bologna for its 20th edition on June 25-26, 2025. Promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region and organized by ART-ER, the event brings together experts, companies, researchers, universities, and institutions from across Italy and Europe to shape the future of technology, research, and innovation.
A unique program for the innovation community
R2B 2025 presents a dynamic and inclusive program tailored to anyone interested in innovation and future-driven solutions. The two-day event features:
- conferences and talks with national and international speakers;
- technical workshops and interactive labs;
- a large exhibition area with 8 themed spaces, exploring sectors such as digital technologies, biotech, energy, mobility, and more;
- networking and matchmaking opportunities, ideal for fostering new collaborations;
- a dedicated Investor Day, where 14 innovative Italian startups will pitch to potential investors during their fundraising journeys;
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
Key topics and themes
This year’s edition will explore several major themes shaping the future of research and innovation, including:
- the new European programming for research and innovation;
- the STEP platform, supporting strategic technologies and boosting Made in Italy;
- the development of IT4LIA Factory, the future European AI Factory to be built at Tecnopolo DAMA;
- the evolution of the innovation system after Italy’s PNRR (Recovery and Resilience Plan)
Matchmaking at INNOVAT&MATCH
One of the highlights of R2B 2025 is INNOVAT&MATCH, the international brokerage event organized by the Enterprise Europe Network. Registered participants will have the opportunity to take part in 30-minute online meetings, connecting supply and demand for innovation, and encouraging partnerships between businesses, startups, and research institutions.
