A study visit to explore the research hub and learn about  the scientific community and innovation strategies

Norway in CNR

On April 9ththe CNR Research Area and Tecnopolo Bologna CNR welcomed over 110 Master’s students in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) for a study visit focused on innovation, research, and global attractiveness.

Lara Porciatti (ART-ER) and Gabriele Marzano (Emilia-Romagna Region) delivered an engaging presentation that gave students an in-depth look at the innovation strategies of the Emilia-Romagna region, as well as its efforts to attract international talent through initiatives like it-ER International Talents Emilia-Romagna.

Following this, CNR President Vittorio Morandi and Michele Muccini provided a comprehensive overview of the CNR Research Area highlighting its pivotal activities and its integral role within the region’s research ecosystem.

Students then visited various institutes and research centers within the Tecnopolo, discovering how computer science contributes to interdisciplinary research in areas such as marine sciences, climate modelling, astrophysics, and advanced materials.

This initiative shows Bologna’s  strong commitment to building global partnerships, fostering knowledge exchange, and nurturing the next generation of scientists and innovators.
