European Commission launches 2025 edition of Youth4Regions programme for journalism students and young reporters

The European Commission has officially opened applications for Youth4Regions programme, designed to support and inspire the next generation of journalists. Targeting journalism students and young reporters, the initiative offers a deep dive into the European Union’s work at regional level, with a strong focus on EU Cohesion Policy.
The 2025 edition of Youth4Regions promises a wide range of opportunities for selected participants, including:
- trainings on journalism and EU Cohesion Policy;
- mentorship by established journalists from their home countries;
- a chance to work alongside renowned media professionals during the EU Regions’ Week in Brussels;
- visits to major EU affairs media outlets and EU institutions;
- an exclusive opportunity to join European Commission press trips to various EU Member States.
All accommodation, travel, and food costs are fully covered by the European Commission, making it an accessible opportunity for motivated young individuals.
To qualify, applicants must be:
- aged 18 to 30 years;
- a citizen of an EU Member State or neighbouring country;
- either studying journalism or having up to two years of professional experience;
- available during the programme week, 11–17 October 2025;
- interest in what the EU and Cohesion Policy are doing in your region.
