Citizens from EU countries, who intend to stay in Italy for a maximum period of three months, have the right to stay in the national territory without any conditions, except the possession of a valid identity document for expatriation. If, on the other hand, they intend to stay in Italian territory for a period of more than three months, they must enrol at the Registry Office of the city where they wish to stay, within three months of entry.
